A Next-Generation Colour Formulation Solution Featuring High-Precision Hardware Integration and Total Support

Konica Minolta, Inc. (Konica Minolta) today announced that it will launch its proprietary Computer Colour Matching (CCM) software in the summer of 2026.

The new software is a next-generation CCM solution that combines highly accurate colour-matching performance with seamless integration with Konica Minolta’s measurement hardware, an intuitive and user-friendly graphical interface, and comprehensive support covering implementation through daily operation.

In recent years, the importance of colour management has continued to grow across a wide range of industries - including automotive, electrical and electronic equipment, smartphones, cosmetics, coatings, plastics, and construction materials - driven by the need for improved quality control and production efficiency. Leveraging its extensive experience in providing colour measurement instruments and colour management solutions, Konica Minolta is developing this new CCM software to address the challenges faced in colour formulation and production environments.

In the development and manufacturing of coatings and plastics, colour formulation is a critical process for achieving target colours, and its accuracy and efficiency have a direct impact on productivity and cost. The new CCM software supports the reduction of trial iterations, shorter formulation time, and improved colour consistency, contributing to enhanced productivity and stable quality in colour formulation operations.

Key Advantages

1. Powerful Algorithm

High-precision matching algorithms significantly improve the accuracy of initial formulation calculations, enabling users to reach target colours with fewer trials and in less time. In addition, advanced correction functions allow effective utilisation of existing formulation data and production results, optimising the entire colour formulation process.

2. Seamless Integration with Konica Minolta Hardware

The software is designed for high compatibility with Konica Minolta’s colour measurement instruments, seamlessly integrating measurement, analysis, and formulation into a single workflow. By providing hardware and software as an integrated solution, the system ensures consistent colour management while enhancing reproducibility and reliability in actual production environments.

3. User-Friendly GUI

Addressing the complexity often associated with conventional CCM software, the new solution features a modern, intuitive, and refined graphical user interface. The design enables even less-experienced users to become proficient in a short period of time, reducing the burden of system adoption and supporting smooth operation at the production site.

4. Total Support from Implementation to Operation

Through regionally rooted support organisations, Konica Minolta provides consistent support from system implementation and onboarding to ongoing operation and after-sales service. Beyond software alone, the company delivers long-term value as a total solution by combining colour measurement instruments, software, and expert support.

Konica Minolta will play its role as a leading company in the colour measurement market by utilizing computer colour matching technology to contribute to improving customer quality and business operations.
